Does a wood stove actually keep you home warmer than a fireplace? I believe it would. With fireplaces there is not only the big mess but also does not burn very well, especially is the wind is blowing. (Even the slightest gust) Wood burning stoves are easy to get started. I have two fireplaces and it takes all day to get the house warm. I wish I would have put a wood burning stove in the office.
